SMALL GROUPS

Small Group 1: Fine-tune that Contemporary Monologue!

Desperate for some constructive professional feedback? In groups of 5-10 actors, you will perform the monologue that you have prepared for your auditions and get responses and adjustments from the session leader(s), so you can go into the room as polished and as prepared as possible! Learn the tips and tricks that will make all the difference.

Small Group 2: Find that Classical Monologue!

Sick of galloping apace? In groups of 5-10 actors and one session leader, participants will try out dozens of hidden gem classical monologues, from Shakespeare, Marlowe, Moliere, Kyd, the Greeks and more. You’ll also discuss strategies for choosing the best one, and learn which pieces to avoid like the Bubonic plague.

PRIVATE SESSIONS

Private Prep Session A: Work that Monologue!

Work for 45 minutes with a professional director or coach on either your contemporary or classical piece. Get one-on-one professional attention, learn how to make bold and memorable choices that will make you stand out in a crowd, and get tips on preparing yourself for anything.

Private Prep Session B: Work that Song!

As above, work in a 45-minute session with a professional music director or voice coach on breath, pitch, connecting with the audience and “selling” the song.

Private Prep Session C: Work that… Interview?

Many programs (both grad and undergrad) have an admission “interview” where the selectors ask about your career goals, your influences, and why you became an actor. Work with a career coach on how to face any challenge without breaking a sweat. Learn how to “be yourself” and leave them wanting more.

BONUS SESSIONS

BONUS Session 1: Dance Dance Revolution

Don't fear the combination step! In this dance call with a New York choreographer, you’ll get a taste of what you’ll find in a BFA musical theater audition … and a real one! Learn the steps, learn the vocab, learn the tricks to perform well with zero prep time but lots of pressure, and get personal feedback … Did you get the part?

BONUS Session 2: It’s a Big World Out There
